Hi there! Maybe you have noticed that i did not write anything here recently… i was using the time i had more for playing games and some study and somehow did not had much extra energy to write a new update. But i made some drafts for new posts, and thought about a maybe very good way for studying pro games / and at the same time for a interesting series on this blog. But the reason i write this quick update today is:
I realised that i very much again fall back in to my „bad habbit go“. Today i played some fast games at WBaduk and now i`m fallen back to 10 kyu! Yes, the „double digit kyu hell“ i was afraid of. I realised that at least 40% of my „bad habit“ problems are psychologically … for example: over confidence, arrogance, risk loving etc. STILL could not change that much (just a bit) until now. But of course often missreadings, or not reading at all… are the problem as well. For both problems, the psychologically ones and the more technical ones, reviewing my games carefully would be a good cure. And for playing fast games in general, maybe some of you think: Fast games are not good to improve (10 min + 3×30 sec byoYomi) but i think, as Lee Sedol wrote in one of his books, it is ok if you do review your games afterwards.
SO, here and now, i make a very important promise to myself:
I will only play another game of go, before the last game is reviewed (at least the opening)!
That does not mean, i will publish every review, because of course reviewing a game, and writing a review are two very much different things.
By the way, i changed my plans for the „WBaduk Challenge“ series of posts here, i will not post every game here, because i still think it is ok to play a lot of fast games, but because i can`t export to sgf or any other file format, if i play with the Ipad app, and because it would overload this blog, i will change the approach for the „WBaduk Challenge“ … it will become some kind of report where i for example show one or two of the most interesting games i played recently, and tell you my thoughts about the WBAduk experience (YES, the DO play very much different to KGS people).
So, see you soon, will publish next longer updates with some kifu as well, with in the next couple of days… Have a nice game!
