If you reading my tea tasting notes, that`s maybe because you are a tea (and most likely puerh-) fanatic like myself. You might already know every active tea blog in the webs, and take time to even flying over this little one… that`s nice! Welcome 🙂 
Please notice that i`m neither a native english speaker nor very well trained in writing or speaking english… and one of the reasons why i love to blog in english is because i think it helps me to learn it.
So if you find some strange wording or stuff alike from time to time… you have a idea where it might come from (yeah, … let`s blame always and only my english skills whenever i write something „stupid“… whatever it is, ok? 😉 )

But now, back to tea…

Normally i taste the teas with a 75 ml  gaiwan and 5g tea, use filtered tab water wich is 96° to 99°C hot and short steeping times like 10s, 15s, 25s, 25s, 45s, 45s ,60s …
But i started to not use a timer any more or a thermometer… so i measure these values intuitively. Most of my tasting notes i write down from hand and transfer them later into digital.

I try not to bullshit when it comes to reviewing a tea… but somehow i think it is hard to avoid, especially for a beginner like i am. While it feel that it is impossible to be really objective when it comes to drinking and describing tea, i think that „objectivity“ is maybe not the final goal.
When i read tea tasting notes on the internet, i like the feeling of enjoyment that often lies in those words, the personality of the one writing…
Isn`t it remarkable how enjoyment can have so many different and alternating,  causes and conditions?
Maybe on one day it is the aroma of a tea, that makes you enjoy it, on the other day maybe the mouthfeel or the Cha Qi?! The atmosphere and the mood, and based on that how skillful you brew your tea, is another huge factor that influences our enjoyment. 
I wish i could write tea tasting notes which take in to account all that, and are transfering something over to you about the personality of the teas i drink as well as how their personality reacts with mine.

But most often i will be already satisfied i will find some time to just write down some general impressions about the teas like mouthfeel, taste etc.

You might know that sometimes people can get very very serious about tea knowledge and tea tasting… devotion is often a very good thing, but  sometimes it comes down to certain kind of tea-expert-cockiness.
I`m serious as well… i`m seriously in love with tea. But, to make it very clear, i`m doing all this because, and only because, it is my hobby and it should be fun and one should never loose one`s own humor while walking further on the tea path.

I like the idea to share my tea enthusiasm… but not because i want to earn something other than experience.

My tasting impressions are not „true“, in the sense of absolute truth … maybe i taste nothing in a tea, or only a old-fish-snickers-dust-pineapple taste… and you would describe it 100% vice versa or would question my mental health after reading that, for me it is all not a damn serious thing.

The way i taste tea and try to use words to describe it are changing every day, if you need a reliable source for making a buying decision, this is not the right place for you. My notes are not reliable, but they are absolutely wholehearted.
Actually i don`t know anything important about tea, other than, that i like it, that it helps the well being of my body and soul, and that i like to describe and learn about it.
Please never see my tasting notes as being something else than: subjective and personal, often changing, opinions of a beginner.

As a addition, some thoughts about my percentage rating:

0-10 % = this is not (can`t be) tea
10%-20%= this maybe was tea, but now it is not (should not be called) tea any more
20%-30% = something is very wrong with this tea
40%-50% = very low quality teabag tea or some i dislike equally much
50%-60% = maybe some people like this, i can`t really enjoy it
60-70% = maybe some things i did like, but overall rather a tea that i would hardly drink (again)
70-80% enjoyable, good
80-90% very good
90-95% extremely good
95-100% does this tea really exist? Is this only a dream?
